Security sales is headed for tough year. There is simply no actual leadership from SB.
Since it is LR season, Cisco needs to LR SB and her engineering friend she brought into “lead” the security engineers. These two have done more damage and created more messes that distracts from actual selling then imaginable. Those two don’t know how to lead a global sales and global engineering organization.
SB though all this investment in small mid would actually grow the security business. She hired people to create this small mid team and it is really about giving the woke individuals titles such as VP and Director. Cisco’s GTM for small mid is partner led. SB’s has spent all this investment $$$ on small mid, which the amount of business the small mid will generate is a rounding error to the overall business. News flash - this is why it is partner led. How about investing in Enterprise. That is what our competition does. That is why the competition is winning and growing.
SB says she is investing in the Enterprise but that yet remains to be seen. SB does not know how to lead sales.
As for the security engineers, SB’s friend, who dresses up like she is one of you all to show she is one of you (but it is a show and everyone knows that) is sending all of you to click2expert and Agile TSA. You will focus on one or two solutions only. So all of you are supposed to differentiate with the architecture but TSAs can only focus on one or two solutions in the click2expert disaster and Agile TSA disaster.
SB’s engineering friend is from GVE and everyone knows those in GVE are trying to get out of it because of SB’s engineering friend created a bad toxic culture. Now, there are Security TSAs leaving due to SB’s engineering friend lack of leadership and creating the same bad toxic culture.
Seriously our competitors are laughing at the incompetence of our security sales and engineering VPs. After seeing the comp plan, you will not be making money in this approach and your career growth does not matter. Only SB’s and her friend salaries and career growth matters. And we wonder why so many are leaving. They are going to make more money and actually lead and have real leadership.
The GSSO org is a complete mess. There are more operations people per seller than any other architecture in Cisco. And we wonder why the security competition is growing net new bookings and growth by significant double digits and Cisco Security is not.
