It's hard to get media to cover layoffs when they happen, so if they're publishing about layoffs even before they've happened, we're basically screwed. This is not just going to be bad, it's going to be brutal. If there ever was a time to start applying for new jobs, it's now.

Fake news. Do not believe the hype. There may be very small pockets that are hit due to consolidation…but nothing even close to 7,500.

You do realize age discrimination is a real thing, and recruiters will low ball unemployed applicants. It's a huge deal to be impacted.

It's simple. Someone in HR leaked it to the press on purpose. They have been using this strategy since 2011 when they put anonymous posts on Brad Reese's website. It is their way of panicking people into leaving. This way, they can do LR on the cheap. If people quit on their own, no package, no medical, and no bonus. They get to save a few extra bucks using this method.
I do not know why some people get pleasure in starting and spreading rumors. But this really pathetic attempt to start the rumor
