Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Despite zero travel and entertainment spending, Cisco needs more Opex savings

Despite the tremendous savings resulting from 18 months of WFH with no business travel, we’re told to get ready for more budget cuts and more Opex savings coming our way. Numbers are doctored to look good and are really only fuelled by cost cutting measures. What does the board need to remove the clowns in charge? Unless they’re all on board with the program : trim down costs until the blob eventually collapses onto itself. Makes me wonder.

More Opex savings needed to pay the huge bonuses to the ELT and other top execs. Meanwhile, we the hardworking peasants get no bonus but LR threats or actual LR.

My BU has been basically told that travel is still off and won’t be allowed to return at anything like the previous levels. Those days are over.

not only zero travel or entertainment but also zero training. Not even the internal engineering trainings are ok to book as they are charged against your department. Ok, you are free to watch youtube videos all night long.
