Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

When you work at Walmart you are:

  • undertrained
  • underpaid
  • overworked
  • constantly suffering abuse from your managers
  • constantly suffering abuse from customers
  • expected to be in three places at once
  • penalized when you are not at three places at once
  • unprotected from COVID (or any other diseases that take advantage of lack of hygiene...)

That about sums it up.

Best decision I made was to walk out and quit after almost 10 years. I absolutely love my new job! Less stress, actually appreciated and more money. So thankful to be out of Walmart. Lots of places hiring start applying!

It’s retail. Is anyone surprised? If you wanted to be an engineer or doctor, you probably should have had a better plan years ago. It’s too late now.

And yet, you still work there. Huh?

@jwj Good to see that your life is so fulfilled that you have to stalk a board of a company whose employees you obviously despise to be able to convince yourself you're better than them. Spoiler alert: you're not.

As a customer at Walmart, I usually can't find help when I need it. The cashiers are bulls--ting in groups of 3 or more in front of the registers (happened several times with me, until I asked if they were busy).
The holiday season is even worse with groups of Walmart workers standing around with other Walmart workers and just BS-ing and only 2-3 cashiers working.
Yep, the workers at Walmart are usually the types who can't find a job elsewhere and they certainly don't care about customers.

@OP+1: You forgot the most important thing……

You probably work at Walmart because you have no other choice. It’s not like you can take your resume out and land another job, except in another retail establishment or the food service industry.

Of course, let’s just leave out that arrest record; maybe the fact you either didn’t finish high school or can’t write three sentences with correct grammar and punctuation.

For everyone that is working at Walmart because you have made horrible choices in your life, you’re a perfect example of deterrence for my children. Thank you.
