Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Child-level bullying

It's ridiculous that a professional environment condones (and in some cases encourages) child-level bullying. I've seen people brought to tears by their managers over the smallest things. Nobody dares report such behavior since we all know nothing will happen - other than the person doing the reporting being labeled as not being a team player. It's truly sad what this place has turned into.

CERT will defend managers, trust me. Defend an employee against an manager? Or "stir up" something with a peer they collapse like deck of cards. Can anyone get ahold of someone in HR seriously? They hide behind FAQs and hidden numbers and etc etc etc BS. They are the most worthless dept at Allstate and are just representatives of Transformative [cancerous] Growth.

They are a bunch of unpaid id--ts. Someone said HR is "revenge of the C students" OMG so true. DO SOMETHING THAT ADS VALUE or go away.

I’ve had peers report these bullies only to have CERT effect little change. The managers continue this behavior because just short of an EEOC investigation not a damn thing will happen to them when reported internally.

Drunk on blue Kool-Aid phony phony phony that’s mostly what we get here for “ leaders“. Very little honesty and zero “transparency“.

Holy cow does this strike a nerve. Before our dispatch department went to India, I had the "manager" from he-l. I was apparently the scapegoat for why dispatch wasn't working. It was, in fact, the Ivory Tower and their version of how dispatch should be performed...which, of course, was wrong. His "style" was wretched. I'd be at an appointment that I had scheduled personal time for with his approval and as I was gone, he'd text me "where are you?" "are you coming back soon?" etc. Harassment isn't the word I'd use. Bullying sounds about right. In all my many years with the company, he was by far THE worst. Thank God for that layoff.

I hate to interrupt a good rant with facts, but most of the leaders everyone complains about on this site aren’t from Chicago.

This is the cult behavior and tactics that Allstate has dictated for years to try to get people to perform at a level that is totally unreasonable.
If you are working 10 hours a day you could certainly do 12 or maybe even 14. It’s all lipservice about caring about the employees and work life balance. If you are a man not much you can do, if you are a woman you can file for harassment . One idea may be to file a suit because they do not have an ERG group dedicated to older workers. One reason is because they don’t have many people who are older working at the grunt level here , that is all by design. That is discrimination. If you are over 50 you are being targeted they don’t want old here. If you are 40 and up you’re next. If they have a young professionals group they should have an old professionals group. They discriminate on older people and bully them the most.

In another thread people were talking about leadership. These managers don’t know anything about true leadership or inspiration. They are bullies. A true leader could lead any group to work that 14 hours for peanuts, but these bullies are true bullies and we have leaders of this pack that are bigger bullies than anyone has ever seen. Remember folks, they are from Chicago. They only understand lawsuits, stock drops , and loss of new business.
