Struggling to keep up

The best left my group over the last year and I’ve been struggling ever since to keep up. I still need a few more years before I am able to move on but I’m not sure I can make it. The guys who I would turn to for knowledge or help are all gone. My manager is no help and I feel like I’m about to sink even while I’m trying to keep my head above water. Am I the only one who is struggling here without having any kind of mentor or management to turn to?

It's funny to hear the same people complain. If it's so bad leave, unless you don't have the skills, education or guts to leave. L3 is just a job , nothing special unless your chosen to be special. Carry on, complain somewhere else and your new company will just shrug their shoulders at your complaining.

The sinking ship analogy is real. The only people that will have a life raft are the executive team, so maybe it's some sort of justice that the awful HR reps and the incompetent lower level managers and clueless supervisors will be kicked to the curb with everyone else.

Every department in Grand Rapids was declining like this when I left. It's the reason that I walked out the door. Continuing to hire people with cashier and fast food experience to work in the aerospace field is not sound judgement and I saw this over and over again. Plus, dealing with the incredibly nasty representatives in Human Resources just made everything else worse. Their idea of time well-spent was gossip and party planning.
Nothing to assist the employees. They put their heads in the sand and refused to talk with anyone when we asked about all of the benefits changes. So, we asked "what department should be handling this?" They blamed it all on corporate with a lame excuse of not having any control. WRONG.
They knew that people would not be happy to see costs increase and coverage decrease and they didn't have the integrity to speak to us as professionals.

Glad to be gone.

No you are not alone. If you have that sinking feeling each and every day that you go to work, it is because this entire company is sinking and sinking fast. L3 is like the Titanic as it slowly sinks management keeps re-arranging the deck furniture and playing the music louder and louder. Find your lifeline and get off this ship, it IS going down. Just look at who -or more like what they're hiring.
