Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Toxic workplace

The people left in the field from the former LOC’s are in an increasingly toxic workplace. The metrics are ridiculous, and guess what, nobody cares! It feels like they are trying to get everyone to quit so they don’t have to deal with people in the field. If you don’t like it, you can go somewhere else and they’ll understand. This is the very antithesis of keeping the promise.

Easy Jobs don’t pay a lot

I left a few years ago and haven't looked back. I didn't even have a job lined up when I did it but I just couldn't take it anymore as I was driving an hour each way to work to be treated like a child. Knowing I was under constant surveillance, BS metrics, told when I can go to lunch was too much for me. Life is better after SF, believe me. What blows my mind is that this is entirely legal? But then I think of Amazon warehouses.....

Just stopping in to see if things have changed but it looks like they haven't.

This is what happens when a work environment goes from caring, appreciating, and learning environment to a business wherein leadership considers themselves better than and inconsiderate of their subordinates. I have seen this over and over in many businesses that have failed. Once an organization loses its faith in each other, failure seems to be the only option. This is not only true with SF, but families and government as well. Solution: Lead by example and have faith in all your coworkers and admit/learn by your mistakes.

It is true, people in the field auto/fire are dropping like flies. The work pressure and expectation are beyond unreasonable. The good news is thay everyone I know have found a new job and are doing well.
