After CHK. What are you/they doing now? I still cannot find anything and it's getting a little discouraging.

Take a look at the CHK jobs posted and ask about the job posted for San Antonio?? So did we reopen that boondoggle place again or is this another “remote” position for one of the special ones? Bet a few in OKC would like to work remote!
There are literally over 500 jobs posted at slb and haliburton alone right now. Patterson is having open job fairs for floor hands. Do you not have any contacts at those companies??? U.S. unemployment rate is below 6%. Every other industry is struggling to find any workers right now. Might want to suck up your pride and go get your hands dirty. Plenty of work out there that would pay six figures a year. Worst case you actually work in the field for a year or two until and have something useful to put on your resume. A 4.0 gpa, Chk desk jockey internship, and intermural badminton champion aren't going to separate you from the rest that were laid off. Finding work is all about real experience and the contacts in your phone.
Its sad the industry has lost all respect for CHK engineers. At one time you could name your pay and anyone would hire you. It is almost a blackeye to have CHK on your resume now. Good luck and keep your head up.

After working somewhere else you quickly begin to realize what a garbage place CHK was to work for. It’s such a shame because the majority of peers I worked with were fantastic. However, you couldn’t get around the fact that everyone was stressed the F out and frustrated with management’s indecisiveness, lack of leadership, and double standards. That lead to a lot of unnecessary tension. You would think that would go away after bankruptcy but it’s still pretty much a s*** show. Be patient, hopefully the right door will open and you can have a fulfilling career. Hopefully, work get to for someone that you respect.
Network network and be willing to relocate! Recently saw posting in Houston DFW and in PA Sorry but not much left as far as petroleum engineering left in OK but look at some of the small companies. Also don’t forget to look outside of petroleum and will be surprised how much will transfer over into other industries. Good luck but there is life after CHK!
