Fatigue just piles up. Probably the reason for that is that my motivation has dropped, but the biggest reason is that the workload is getting bigger every day. I barely manage to rest enough so I can get to work the next day. It's terrible. How do I manage to rest when after finishing work for a few people, the day after I have even more work? This has been going on for months.

Don’t know how some stores they are understaffed and other stores overstaffed. They hired too many people at our store now it’s too much. Macy’s never gets anything right. Either too much or too little.
try to look for a job at a bedding store so you can rest ha ha
Please take the time off when you can. Take care of number one first. Macy’s believe me I worked for them they don’t care how much extra effort you make as long as work gets done. After they massively downsized my area a lot of people including myself took it day by day and just did what we could during our 8 hour shift. Unless your salaried which really is unfortunate for those people, do what you can. Never feel guilty about taking time off someone else has to step up and help out while you’re off.
You do the best you can do. Set your own pace. Tasks will always be there, the customers won't. Why are you pushing yourself so hard?!
go to lunch and all the way out play "NiN bite the hand the feeds "really loud and never come back
Your health is of the utmost importance. The workload burden is a continuous theme at Macy's especially with very little floor coverage on specific days. I hope you have some PTO days that you can use before the holidays begin. Don't let this company run you ragged because it is not worth it in the end.
Try to get your rest it's important for your health. If you need extra time to recover just call out, believe me Macy's can't fire you because they just can't keep employees to stay it's just too much work and low pay. They save all that money so they can get it for themselves in bonus that's how Macy's rolls
