Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Competitive capability...

I apologize that this topic is not about layoffs directly.
_
Talking to one customer prompted me to think a little about SF competitive capability today. Does it seem to you that SF is increasingly losing competitiveness?
If this company loses competitiveness the way it loses the best employees who go to other companies, it will not be a good thing.

We lost our edge when you can resolve an issue, Agent cries it nots happening fast enough, employee gets an official write up on business outside their control, employee seeks employment elsewhere.

In the last year alone I’ve seen a ton of people leave under the terms this place is childish, I agree.

Unless we can pull exp out of our a-s, I don’t think we’ve seen the curve of lost experience yet. We are just getting started.

Usually around winter, and New Years people make their bigger life changes.

State Farm’s model & motto. Work at State Farm. You’ll get abused and stupider with time.

Personally neenthrough se-ual harassment from 2 PM In Systems (both married and act like perfect parents ya and great community leaders and SF leaders). Also been demeaned multiple times by a charmed elite ET Mgr and he got promoted (not sure what his real skill is). Verbally abused and called “stupid and slow” on a ridiculous team that literally does high school tasks and meaningless tasks all day that any Manager should know how to do and actually do. (Not others). Same story. Acts like perfect parent, high society SFarmer and married and promotes his gal friends. Sickos with no brains that call themselves leaders-In rural communities

Most in ET and HR Mgt are ego maniacs- way too big for their britches & need to quit being thrown money & promotions lacking real life skills for doing literally nothing except harass employees (except their gal friends and beer and high school pals)
Pathetic Planning and HR show

Should have sued long ago. Nice people over 45 get walked in unless you are up the VP you know what.

Tolerance wore thin. Remember kids. The clean perfect parent and community guys and gals are the ones with the most to hide

SF is having another record breaking production year. So much for the doom and gloom crowd predicting the company’s demise for the last 5 years……please don’t say it will catch up to them-you have been wrong 5 years in a row.

Yep viscous circle, lower agency income dictates agents must adjust. It is easily done however, smaller office space, less team members, cut all marketing expenses out and you end up making the same income, most likely more. Why worry about travel incentives, if you want to travel just book it, no meetings or co BS to interfere. It is a much more relaxing gig when you embrace that philosophy, heck, I’m an agent and retired 15 years ago, I just have not given my official notice yet. I’m on the 97 contract so no pension benefit, I work a day or two a week and do whatever I want. If things change for the worse I can bail whenever I want. No worries whatsoever. Good luck all.

Being an employee at Farm since vivify is like going to high school and being brainwashed and “managed” by inexperienced children show offs every single day.

Your being trained to comply with lies and what is wrong.

Lotsa money rolling around to create the show and prove their worthy. Sickening mind game

It’s not competiveness unfortunately. It’s using policyholders and employees for leaders to get their glory, image and big pay and bonus.

True technocratic do gooder image. $$$

Long time agent here. Sadly, competitiveness has become all about price. The reality is that the recent growth in Auto is because we have seen price drops since mid 2017 in most markets. The COVID dividend and price cuts really sparked sales at a time when we expected a huge drop. The truth is that State Farm is becoming more competitive on price. But employees lose jobs or make less. And agent commissions have taken about a 20% hit while employee costs have risen. TC thrives but we’re all hurting.
