A few more meetings and it will be a breaking point for me to get out of here. Do meetings at GF have any other purpose than to drain energy from employees?
We have daily meetings and historically it was used for pass down. But now it’s just a waste of time and people are asked to make presentation about their recent vacation to utilize the time and in the name of team building. When opposed and asked to stop the meeting the response from manager was that the second line wanted to continue it. What a s&&(&show the management can’t wait to get out of this place.
Managers calendars are fully populated with meetings. It's a good thing we don't have actual jobs.
Main problem is management schedule 10-20 people meeting for 1-2 hour where your status update will take 2 min but need to attend full meeting and hear all people updates.

This is referring to F7.
As a module team member, we have countless meetings almost daily like:
1) morning meeting
2) after morning meeting/ops
3) after ops alignment
4) lunch meeting
5) afternoon session
6) pre-2nd ops
7) 2nd ops
8) post-2nd ops meeting
9) night call with F1/8 (at least 1-2times)
On top of that, the Industrial Engineering (IE) department will force module to attend their useless meeting with the fab management. If you are unlucky like me, you will be the rep for your module. Most meetings are just non-stop revision of their loading plan (seriously, does the world change so much or your calculation is just off?) or asking module/GSM to get a Ferrari with the price of a cheap bicycle. After you have slaved yourself to meet their last-minute target, you will be notified of more new unreasonable targets. No thanks at all, just more scolding if you said it is not possible to have it done yesterday.
Quite demoralizing and I am glad that this will be my last week with this bunch of clowns.
Lot was talked about meeting culture but still same pain. People schedule meeting at early morning 6 am and late night 10 /11pm. It's challenging to survive in GF with small kids due to meeting culture
Meetings are a way for people to prove they are working. Those that don't attend because they actually are working must be slaking . Meetings at GF hit the point where its weird when there isnt one.
