A friend's leaving Xerox for a new job with a raise but he's hoping that he's going to get a matching offer to stay. I can't understand why he would want to stay for the life of me. He says he likes his job, has a great manager, and would rather be at a place where he spent the past ten years than start anew. All of that makes sense, but how do you simply ignore the complete lack of job security? You can like your job here but you must be aware that nobody is safe at this point. But apparently, he isn't aware of that. Luckily for him, I haven't heard of Xerox ever trying to keep anybody, else he might end up screwing himself over for no good reason.

Leave this place and move on to something better. Time to go. 👋
Ok, he is a mo--n.....what the he-l is wrong with him????
Institutionalized?
Wow. You guys never worked for Xerox before saying those comments. Just stating the obvious.
You can’t apply laws that work in theory, to a company that doesn’t work at all in reality.
I would move on and roll the dice in a heartbeat without question.
Also depends on where the other job is, it could be a hellhole
If you like the job, manager, pay and work, why not stay? Depending on your skill set, job security is really not an issue. There are lots of jobs out there with other companies that are dying to get people. If you are lucky enough to be working in a field that is desirable, then why move now unless you find a job that you like better?
