How long does the medical coverage remain after you quit? Is it immediately cut off or does it last until the end of the month?

When you quit, they stop the day you leave. When you are laid off, they end the last day you are on payroll (not including your severance or vacation pay). Clarify this with your direct manager when the day comes. But it is usually for at least 1 to 2 working weeks after you are given notice.
As a salaried EE when I left 2 yrs ago it was good through month end
Your benefits start on your first day of work but they end on the date you are no longer an employee.
If you plan on quitting or retiring, do so on the last day of the month. When you sign up for a new health insurance plan they typically start on the 1st of the month. At least that was my experience when I left on my own.
If you "quit" then it ends the day you leave. If you get laid off they allow 2 weeks for you to find something else or apply for COBRA....At least that is the way it was presented to us last year...
It’s immediate I left on the 5th of a month and it was ended immediately.
I'm assuming anything beyond that is not happening.
