You think you're safe? Don't be ridiculous! For as long as there's somebody who'd be willing to work for less than you, you can kiss that safety goodbye. And guess what? There'll always be somebody more desperate who'll be willing to work for peanuts. If not here, then in India. Nobody here is safe. Accept that and live with it instead of deluding yourself into a false sense of job security.

I'm not aware of any jobs being safe since the wonderful days of the 1980s and union mandated equal pay. I'd prefer the opportunity to show I'm worth the pay and why my direct face to face interaction with customers is more valuable to the company than offshoring. Everything lasts as long as it lasts so why worry.
You could say this for any company in the tech sector.
Except the marketing team ? For many years there are still the same (except the VP) comparing to the sales, presales, professional services and support.
