Priority: expand skillset

OK, I came here, I worked, I realized how hard it is to be stuck here when your other options are thin due to lack of skills... I learned a lesson... the most important thing is to upgrade skills and that is my priority now...
What are you doing to acquire as many new skills as possible and get out of this place quickly? In which ways are you upgrading your skillset?

Companies are hiring right now. You will want to search positions you are interested in and spend time looking outside other retail jobs. Update your resume and cover letter. Rework (add/delete/key words) them using the job description you are applying for. Have a goal for applications and call them (if applicable) for a follow up. You may find something that surprises you.

I started applying places once they started doing the new scheduling. I applied two retail places and two places that were not retail. I got a job offer from one of the places that was not retail. I have no background doing this type of work but they hired me and am currently still training. So far so good. So one can be hired at a place they do not have experience in as long as the employer is willing to train and teach you. Other option is signing up for trade school to learn a skill set to help with getting new job. Or just try your luck and apply and maybe company willing to train.
