there's none. since i joined this place my life has evaporated in favor of work. it's ridiculous. 3m should come with a warning - people with families need not apply. at least if they want to keep those families. why is nobody talking about this? is it the 'be lucky you have a job' mentality or something else?

Agreed. Its a dont ask dont tell policy at 3M. Some the employees love abusing the unlimited hours/crazy overtime pay and upper management turns a blind eye. For the rest of the employees that disagree with the swing shifts and long hours they are looked/treated as an outcast from your fellow employees. Toxic is the environment. Abuse of employee flexibility is the policy. Its encouraged to call in because that's the only way to have days off.
have to totally agree with you, 3M is a company that is quickly eliminating the work /life balance unless you are a staff employee,, production workers will never have a good balance as shift work destroys all hope of this, some managers are in favor of going above and beyond but the corporate message is full of sh-t, they want to be seen as diverse and wanting to listen and climate responsive but when it comes to the worker on the floor then that's where the listening finishes,, just gonna have to suck it up buttercup or else there's the door.
