Use of XOM Gasoline and Lubes

How many of XOM employees use XOM gasoline and lubes in your vehicles? I have heard a couple of colleagues swearing and using Chevron gasoline claiming it give more mileage than XOM gasoline. If this is the case Techron seems to be better than Synergy fuel.

Any F&L folks (or outsourced F&L folks) want to shed some light on this?

Kroger gas gives me much better mpg than anyone else's. Not smart enough to know why.

Sinclair Shamrock is much better. They give you a tumbler glass with every 20 gallons purchased.
At least they did in 1975

Buc-cees or H‑E‑B.

Costco or Walmart is great. Also use GasBuddy and GetUpside is I’m not near the others. It’s all about the detergents that are added at the stations.

Use the app to see best price near you on premium. You can find less expensive than EM with the discount. Any major with the lowest per gallon.

Our branded fuel and consumer lubes businesses are strong and have industry leading brand share, but they are still a tiny fraction of overall corporate earnings. By refusing to use the company’s products, you are not “sticking it to DW.” It would take a massive demand shift for it to even get on his radar, and even then, it would only be a footnote.

The only people you’re “sticking it to” are your colleagues who work in those business lines and are every bit as frustrated with DW as you are. Don’t be a jerk.

Anyone know who makes Kirkland synthetic, I use Exxonmobil fuel and Mobil 1 great products. Stop bashing, if you have a direct injected or port fuel injected engine you will regret not using the majors.

I don’t purchase anything xom. Our discounts aren’t really discounts at all. My small way of saying forget you and it makes me feel good.

Folks all the gas is shared between all the gas stations and gasoline companies. The base gasoline is divided by octane rating into storage tanks. The gasoline is then spiked with10% ethanol, and some special additives techron, detergents whatever else. It is all the same to me because it burns the same as long as it has the octane rating you need. What you really need to worry about is the quality of the gasoline you are getting. If you get bad gas from a bad storage tank you will damage your engine. If the pickup tube at a gas station is too low you will get a load of water, dirt or sludge in you tank. You will know very quickly if this happens because your car will sputter and die after a few miles. If you find a gas station you trust get gas exclusively from them.

I work in Finished Lubes. Unless you drive a luxury car, no need to stick with Mobil 1. Just go with any synthetic oil. The difference is so minimal that you won't notice.

The gas is always greener on the other side, especially for the guy driving the Tesla...

Lol foolish post. Gasoline doesn’t vary like that. Don’t stress about where you go stop for gas as much as you do and you will be a tad bit less stressed and sour in life.

I've noticed the same fuel trucks stop at EM, BP, and 7-11 in my area.
I like the 7% discount if I'm using my card.
That's for the mower. I drive a Tesla.

Techron is a brand name for an additive that everyone uses. Don't buy XOM gas.

I worked in LT. There is nothing in EM products that is significantly different from any other major brand. To be honest, all the technology is supplied by additive companies, who are developing for all the major brands on similar technology platforms. Get whatever has the steepest discount. I usually opt for Kirkland (Warren Distribution, also does Amazon Basics, Wallyworld Supertech, and others). As for fuel, as long as you're putting top tier fuel in the tank, all should be good. Given the nonsense EM has pulled with their employees, I absolutely go out of my way to buy other brands now. Makes me grin a little every time I fill up knowing I'm sticking it to Uncle Darren.
