All of you who are so happy to be full-time remote, you do realize your replacements are probably being trained in cheaper countries as we speak?

Not so sure. Timezones and ability to quickly travel to sites are still needed. Depends what you do I guess.
@OP Showing up to the office has done nothing to prevent outsourcing to the third world; this has been going on for decades. The only difference is that WFH gives your employer an excuse to pay you even less than they already do.
Work from Home proves the case for Work from India or Work from BA or Work from KL. Those of you who claim to be able to Work From Home are helping the company to id which jobs go to India, BA and KL. Most you you are not better than the people in other countries (you have a chip on your shoulder). Even if you are better you are not worth the salary difference. Bye-Bye
You are stupid to argue you can work from home because you are telling the company to replace you with someone working in India and allow you to "go home permanently".
Maybe it's my router, but how'd this post from 2012 (1999?) end up at the top?
Ironically BTC has been working remote for over a year as the offices have been closed.
Traditional mgmt., older leaders do not like to change. They want youngsters to change but won't change their traditional and dated way of operation and people mgmt. They want to feel power over others and only way they can achieve it is by micromanaging. B-ms on seat it is.
100% true
OP, I'm impressed that you believe working in the office makes any difference at all 😂
What’s funny is when you speak to people in those locations, they are terrified that work is moving TO the US, so it can be automated. Same with our MSPs, they’re legitimately worried we will drop them. And this isn’t a XOM specific or even political issue, it’s just how the world works.
How long do you think it's going to be before you're discarded like yesterday's trash?
