What is going on with Watson Health? Thought it was being sold? Any updates? Haven't seen or heard of any layoffs there in awhile.

Interesting how there was exactly ZERO mention of Watson Health on the earnings call. Like it doesn't even exist anymore.
Have they found a buyer yet? Or are they just going to shut down the operation, and write-off their $3B investment?
Does that describe IBM though and not just WH? All marketing and no substance
Watson Health is all marketing and no substance. IBM will do well to get some money for it.
Some years ago a DE friend and I were speculating about Watson and I said "You'll know it's failing if IBM starts sticking the Watson brand name on offerings that are barely related".
And that's Watson Health.
Yes this is most likely rumor mongering, but the facts do support a jettisoning of Watson Health mainly due to a lack of investment dollars, and a suffering of margins. (watson health plays mainly in commodity offerings) No matter how you add it up, IBM can’t afford a moon shot due to its debt levels. What it can afford is offloading people and pocketing some quick cash. AK has to show the street that his “Hybrid/AI/Enterprise” strategy is working, and that means a much slimmer IBM. The ultimate goal is 150-160k headcount focused on “hybrid cloud/RedHat/AI/enterprise” . Nothing else need apply. This is AK’s moonshot
Fake news. Where’s the link saying AWS bought watson health.
4fok Can you post a reference to your Wall Street journal article. I have searched their past history, and can’t find a reference
Bill and Warren will also pitch in :)
According to who at which Wall Street Journal where?
According to Wall Street Journal they have been acquired by Amazon.
Rumor is that a deal will be announced by EOM
Watson health….what a fu----g joke.
There was a layoff the beginning of August, but not sure the current status of Watson Health (the healthcare part of IBM and NOT the computer).
