Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

No high hopes

When I look at all those empty shelves, it is clear to me how much of a problem this company is in. Whomever I talk to, there is no hope that a miracle will happen and the company will fill up the stores. I also have no hope that this will happen, although I wish it would happen. Maybe someone here has more optimism?

40 more store closings would still put the total under the 200 that were announced last year. It is regrettable, but not a surprise.

I wonder if Target will take this clown MT back after he gets fired from BBBY. Oh well, they gave it the Ole College try to recover BBBY'S balance sheet.

For the BILLIONITH time..there are supply chain issues EVERYWHERE. Instead of being so melodramatic..go to a News site and LEARN.

Earnings are due in a couple weeks.
Corporate comms have been quiet.
Will there be more corporate departures?
Last earnings stated an additional 40 store closures during remaining FY.
These could all be core BBB stores at this point.

Problem is that there doesn’t seem to be any long-term vision for this company and that now is hurting them in the short-term with these empty shelves and lack of any sort of foot-traffic. There are some quick fixes here and there like we saw with the old brands being switched out with the new ones and some new signage but nothing that sets us apart from Target or Walmart. Especially with Target catching up to us regarding Bedding products or us trending downwards.

MT is more concerned over promoting his lifestyle desires than running a business. The company will fail.
