Did you see Biden’s speech 9/9? Unless I heard wrong, he said he was going to mandate that all companies with more than 100 employees require vaccinations or weekly COVID tests for all employees. How will Walmart respond? Can Biden actually do that? Will we see a federal court step in to strike it down, or will they uphold it? Will Walmart terminate associates that don’t comply? More to come on this, I’m sure.

I agree. They have insurance premium increases for smokers vs. non smokers now. Maybe they will also put into effect increases for non vaccinated. Hoping this is just rumors……urgh

There'll be enough push back that it isn't a forgone conclusion. Hasn't even been mention by mgt or anyone in authority here.
In my mind, the dilemma comes down to the overall good of the populous vs individual/states rights. From the legal perspective (if there’s a credible legal challenge), I believe the Supreme Court would probably rule the mandate was not illegal. The federal arm can, and has used, this kind of authority in previous public health/safety crisis conditions. There’s plenty of precedence here.
But the real question relates to individuals being in control of their own bodies. Look 50 years from now when some boneheads want to start putting barcodes on babies, or implanting GPS units, or forcing everyone to give DNA samples. Where do you draw the line?
Executive Orders and government agency “mandates” are not laws. Please see school house rock for a primer on how laws are made per the United States Constitution. The federal government is wayyyy out of line,and really, abolishing or reigning it in, and restoring States power is the best solution going forward. This Covid cr-p is not about health, it is about control. Anyone who doesn’t understand that Walmart and other large companies are driving this, rather than being subject to it is a fool. We are living in an Oligarchy. Walmart does not care about you and they already have your replacements here thanks to the open border with over 1 million un vetted, (and NOT REQUIRED to get the Covid shot), illegals arriving here in just the last 8 months. As well as 100,000 un vetted Afghans flown here in the last couple weeks. There is no chance Walmart will do the right thing and respect your privacy, natural immunity, or religious objections. The right thing is for everyone to say NO and stop giving them your time and stop shopping there until they stop abusing you!!

This is not a choice that Walmart or any other business with more than 100 employees needs to make or can make....This is a government mandate ... i.e. they have to do it or face fines. I think the fines are $14,000 for every employee that is not vaccinated.
This is the scary part. The businesses and employees have no say so. It is now a government requirement and will be enforced by the government imposing fines on the business. This is just the beginning of the government taking our rights away. Just think of what is next......

I'm guessing some will quit (people with actual principles, not just anti-vax for attention or to fit in with their anti-vax friends), most won't. It is way easier to be anti-vax when there was nothing to lose and the fear of getting sick or worse, dying, was more abstract than concrete. Hopefully people will understand that there are no sinister motives to get people vaccinated (Doctors aren't sociopaths hellbent on ki----g everyone (and if you believe they are then you should never talk to another one about anything)), and it is for the greater good of society that we don't die largely preventable deaths. I think Wal-Mart ends up on the right side of history with this one.
They will start hiring a ton of people, way more than needed, expecting a bunch to quit or be fired. What's funny is that if people arent fired or quit over the vax, they will have to fire the extra workers they just hired. hahaha
For anyone who wants to quit over this think about this: The mandate is an OSHA mandate (workplace safety issue) and it applies to any business with over 100 employees.
So you would need to find a small business with less than 100 employees to work for. And by using OSHA as the way to get people vaccinated they have a work around the Constitution (for now).
No matter what your politics, this is a scary thing, that the government mandates you do something against your will or beliefs. This could just be the beginning.
Just the phrase Biden used "we are losing our patience" is scary in the implications of "we" -- who are the "we" and also the tone seemed like if you did not comply worse was coming.

Over on Reddit (r/Walmart) they have a vaccine mandate incoming mega thread with 600+ comments. The vocal majority are in support of the mandate. Granted, it's Reddit which is a leftist echo chamber so that's to be expected. There are plenty of people voicing their disagreement but they are downvoted and mocked with "just quit then".
The upcoming days will be very interesting.

I am turning in my resignation tomorrow. Not that it will matter. I will not compromise on my beliefs and this job is not worth it. I am a licensed optician and i can go right into private practice and bypass this cr-p! I am so over this.
Morale will drop by Monday. People will start taking time off to eat up their PTO. Angry workers will sabotage their employers. Customer service will take a nose dive. Quotas won't be met. Quarterly earnings calls will be disastrous. DJIA will take a MASSIVE DROP. Gold will spike. Short term bank runs. ATM will have more sporadic service. LAWSUITS. EEOC Settlements. Unemployment LAWSUITS. Layoffs. Impeachment.
Welcome to the beginnings of socialism. First vaccines, then they tell you what job you can have, then how many children you can have (maybe all because of climate change or something), then how much you can make, where you can live, what your house needs to look like etc. See Europe for examples of how it starts and where it goes
