I sent a bunch of applications for a new job the day my manager told me I should be happy to have a job. I am still under impression of his advice. Is it possible for him to say something like that? Is anyone happy here just because they have a job? Maybe I could be happy to have a job, but how can I be happy to have such a manager? Impossible.

A job where the compensation actually can improve your life...not a job where you have to put up with insipid managers, terrible hours, the chance that you could lose your benefits because a troglodyte of a manager doesn't give you enough hours.
