I’m surprised that there’s not any leaders left at CHK. I’m not talking about titles, plenty of those, I’m talking about employees with a backbone. So you watch talented employees get let go, while we kept kept people with six months experience. Now you continue to watch people leave because everyone knows the decision makers are still incompetent, yet you say nothing. Its going to be sad when you get that layoff call that could have been prevented. You don’t need layoffs when the company thrives, but you can’t thrive when you hide from those running the company in the ground. I just recently left and can tell you, it’s night and day difference.

Heck even the HSE guys are only allowed certain places and have to get permission before we go to certain jobs and ivory tower aware. If anyone complains they very quickly no longer need those services and everyone knows better then call the fake hotline
The protected ones, heard long ago both him and wheels been looked at many times only to be protected and saved by VPs to the point hr and security no longer even look into things.
But with hunting season coming up anyone else notice how some “road improvements” have been done on certain leases in BV by certain contractors.
Leave the BV leadership along. They cook for us never question what really goes on in the field as long as our flare check are filled out but we can do those from the house now with all the new scads we have. As long as you don’t mind listening to stories about how great app or south la was or being the daddy of a young intern years ago it is nice easy place to draw a pay check.
Agree with you but they know what happened and still blaming it on WH culture and current leadership all protected even if other’s families are changed forever. Once the CSB report comes out be interesting to see the new lawsuits then but sure we will keep hearing BS quotes on safety and efficiency from leadership that is never around.
You know, when CHK had one of the best Safety men in the field both at STX and BV, then they let him go to safe there own a-s. That's loyalty. NOT. That man was the best at it all and did his job 100%. Fare more then any of the EHS folks they had or still have there. Yes I'm talking PS. That man there was one he-l of a investigator. That's why CHK did not want him at the fatality in BV. He would have found out what happen and 10 minutes. ChK did not want that and those lawyers in BV definitely did not want that. And that so called CHK employed investigator, what a f---ing joke. CHK will never be the same with out PS in the field.
You should have stood up to the mo--ns before they trashed your company. Now you’re just getting paid, not building a career or even a resume at this point.

Things have to change quickly if anyone wants a job at CHK in 8-12 months. Hanging out waiting for other to fix the problem hasn't worked has it?? That's because the VP team has slowly picked off anyone who has stood-up because it has always been one or two people at a time. What happens when 10 of the top engineers, geos, or whatever group has a meeting with Mike? They aren't going to fire all the top engineers/geos. Please stop telling people to hide and be scared. We are not going to have a company left if we don't make changes.
There is a very high concentration of narcissists working at CHK at all levels actually. It's the main reason why you'll see some strong individual performances every once in a while & people will feign appreciation while simultaneously trying to make themselves the center of everything. It's also why CHK won't be successful long term because organizations with a "Me first" culture can't weather hard times. VPs are just the tip of the iceberg- but their leadership (or lack thereof) sets the tone for everyone else.
CHK has always been driven from the top down even during the AKM era. If you value your paycheck, try not to make waves, and find something fulfilling outside of work hours. Leave the personal crusades for others.
All the VPs the same. Question a direction and you are labeled not a team player. Question something unethical or disagree with one of the special one and you get the phone call from HR after hours so they don’t have to ever see you again. Welcome to the new world of getting rid of the older crew and HR is powerless.
To older employee: What do you do when a project comes across your desk, but it is terrible and will lose us millions, however the VP is a promoter and wants want to push the project through? My guess is nothing.
You probably make $200,000+/year to be an advisor, but you don't advise. You are just as big of a problem as the id--ts steering the ship. How many people have been laid off because you didn't help stop the waste? Coward => a person who lacks the courage to do or endure dangerous or unpleasant things.
WTF are you talking about, life savings have increased, or you are not investing wisely. Do you even save money? If you have money, use the money to make money. Older isn't an issue, wanting to continue on the merry-go-round is what is lacking. Once you grabbed the golden ring, why go around again? Pension, there are none, unless you work for government entity.
There are no jobs out there for the older folks and not many for younger folks. Working for id--ts is better than watching your life savings dwindle away from being unemployed. So stop complaining because after a lifetime in our industry, I have learned that most companies discriminate against hiring older people and turds float to the top of most companies.
