Thread regarding Cenovus Energy layoffs

Surviving layoffs is prolonging the agony

What do you think, can surviving a layoff here be considered luck or is it just an extension of the agony? I've become tired of layoffs and uncertainty. I have no hope or energy that things will get better here. I used to feel good about surviving layoffs, but now I think those who were laid off are much happier. Surviving layoffs here has become a waste of time. Those who were cut have already found new, better and more stable jobs, and I am still here trying to survive layoffs.

I agree with last post. Your health, both physical and mental, will continue to decline if you stay here

I was let go in January and honestly it was a huge shock, not to mention that this was a first time in 20 years of working to be let go. Prior to that, I was extremely unhappy, overworked and stressed for a last 2 years. Two months after I got another job with real team and real managment (nothing like Husky/Cenovus), even the pay is much better. Honestly people, don't be afraid, look around, your health is in stake prolonging this agony by staying in unhealthy workplace.

I have an idea. Leave. Oh wait you can’t find a job because you suck.

Trust me. Take the 10% reduction in base across the street and get your mental health back. I did. It’s incredible how much happier you will be.
