Thread regarding Liberty University layoffs

Liberty University's Great Experiment

So far, Liberty University has gained in enrollment during the Covid pandemic as the institution has defied mainstream policy regarding vaccinations, masks, or social distancing. The Great Experiment continues today with a football game and a packed stadium with few Covid guidelines. What, if anything, does this tell us about Liberty's leadership ? Does this mean that there are significant numbers of Flames willing to question scientific consensus that choose "individual freedom" and "liberty" over community health? Does the resistance to mainstream medical and scientific authority--by leaders and willing students--run parallel to the idea at the Jesse Helms School of Government that progressive climate change policy is a Marxist plot to redistribute wealth?

Covid numbers look manageable: Active Student Cases (38), Active Faculty/Staff Cases
(11), Total Active Cases (49). Enough to "believe" an October 8-9 Homecoming Superspreader won't happen.

"According to Dr. Chris Lewis with Centra Health, Lynchburg General Hospital has 101 COVID-19 patients as of this writing, of whom 20 are in the ICU, 18 of whom are intubated. In addition, two infants were born at the hospital to two COVID-positive mothers, but the babies tested negative for the virus. The hospital has reportedly been seeing 10 to 20 new COVID-positive patients per day for the last two weeks. In addition, the hospital has reported 26 virus-related deaths since Sept. 1, according to the Centra Health representative."

Over/under on the number of active Covid numbers that will be reported September 15? I would guess 250. No home football game last week, but FTF classes have resumed. 1700 or so in quarantine. Hospitals filling up--2 or 3 people in Lynchburg dying per day. Would assume some students would have gotten smarter. Any takers on 250 line?

"As of Wednesday, the university has a total of nearly 1,000 cases this semester. All of last fall LU had just under 1,100 cases, the most in a semester yet. During the spring semester they totaled 675 cases. Liberty’s mitigation period is slated to end Friday."

What's the over-under for active Covid cases on September 13, 2021?
https://www.liberty.edu/coronavirus/covid-19-dashboard/

For a week after the first football game, the current line is 250 active cases.
That's because there were some mitigation measures made.
Any takers?
