If you get a PIP and don't pass, you would generally get severance in Canada. Generally IOL only does "for-cause" terminations when it's a clear policy violation like misuse of assets, etc.

in the EM layoffs page someone posted the contract sent by HR and when EM lets PIP people go they will be “terminated without any separation benefits”.

Do PIPd people get any IOL severance when they are let go? Or is the PIP meant to create cause thereby 0 severance entitlement?

PIP’s are required to make room to accomplish BTC numbers EM is pushing on imperial.
IRP is a manager bloated organization that duplicates work. Too many managers and not enough workers to actually do real work.
After the 2020 layoffs anyone that ranked in the 4th quintile will now be in the 5th quintile and forced to take a PIP and eventually be fired.
I predict the environment will become more toxic.
