Thread regarding Imperial Oil Limited layoffs

I think I'm being forced to quit

I have no other explanation for what's been going on. Suddenly, none of my work that was always considered exemplary is considered good enough - and yet they keep adding more work to my plate. My manager is using any opportunity he can get to yell at me, and he finds it plenty enough. He never used to do this before. I didn't do anything to warrant any of this, so the only thing that comes to mind is they want me to quit. I don't want to give them the satisfaction, but I don't know how much longer I can take this without snapping - which will give them the reason to fire me. I have no idea what to do.

Sounds like your manager is in line for a great promotion and a bonus by doing their part to reduce headcount. Unfortunately there's a lot of toxic managers that are great at managing up while creating a poisoned work environment for their direct reports. Start looking for other jobs, document everything in the meantime, perhaps try to get a transfer to another team, or hope your manager's toxic behaviour gets them promoted up elsewhere so it's not your problem any more. Good luck.

What if you act like a smartass? Like counter suggest that it was the supervisor who made the mistake, make a clear description of how he screwed up and that you are noticing that he he makes a lot of mistakes! And do it in public to create a precedent for others.
And then end it with a comment that he better stop bankrupting the company with his incompetence in these difficult times lol 😆😂.
I used to get to my supervisor at shell in 2015 and twisted his arm enough through passive aggressive maneuvers that the HR superceded him and cancelled my PIP. I exposed every single of his misreports to HR especially if he was creating a nuisance, and made sure that HR knew that the report and their response was being recorded!
They widened up pretty quickly.

Don’t trust what your useless manager say to you about your performance. Everyone know how hypocrite and incompetent Imperial’s Manager can be. They should be piped first. My advice don’t lower your confidence by your supervisor negative feedback. Your contribution to the company is way more higher than him/her. Look for another job, kick his a-s and quit this sh---y environment. They only deserve to manage cheap BTC folks.

Imperial HR is not your friend.
Plus all HR people are out on stress leave at the sites. Good luck finding anyone to help you.
Bottom line, if you are not one of the “favorites” you are probably on your way out.
Let them fire you and collect severance.
Keep profesional and built a network with people from other companies.

They can't fire you for snapping at them - the only way they can fire you is for Code of Ethics violation (stealing, harrassment, etc).

Let them fire you, so you are entitled to severance and EI. Don't quit.
