Since this is a layoff page what is happening with the supposed layoffs in the 3rd quarter of this year? Previous threads mention they hear this rumor and that rumor, etc...and now nothing?

Was told by a large recruiting firm 2 weeks ago that the word on the streets in the beltway it to NOT push recruits to Raytheon. They have heard that Raytheon is trying to lean things out and either 1) slice and dice sell off or 2) complete corp sell out.
Any, ANY hiring you see is not due to growth but loss of personnel and the need to place a warm body in a contract that is already running. Most of their sales are foreign which means sh-t...
This may come as a shock to you, but each quarter is multiple months long. So, we are still in Q3. As to what people had been saying previously, this is a business we work for and things change daily, weekly and monthly. What could have very well been true a month ago in regard to layoffs could have changed. Maybe it’ll be Q4, maybe it’ll be Q1 next year, maybe it’ll be at the end of this month. You and I have no idea what’s going to happen. All we can do is share information that we hear and go off of that. Being sarcastic and cynical is going to encourage people to not say anything. Big changes are coming, if not enough people retire as well as if not enough new contracts/projects are won then there will be some form of layoffs or reduction in force.
