Works so well, and never gets old….

Yup, this is the new management style. They spend their time on podcasts and the Lowe Down talking up how much they appreciate us but when you get to work it’s “Perform or there will be accountability!” This is a time honored procedure known as ‘Being A Filthy Pack of Hypocrites”.
But you know what? It doesn’t work on the workers that Lowe’s now has. They only want part time people that they can underpay who don’t have any benefits, and these people couldn’t give a dmn about threats from the district manager. That’s the funny bit about all this. The people who used to give a sht are all gone. God knows I don’t. You want to fire me? Go for it. I’m just treading water all day, doing the minimum required to get paid and leave. Jobs are everywhere right now. I’m fine with unemployment too. So scream your heads off. We didn’t meet our credit goals in pro? Who cares. Is our LTR score in the toilet? Whoop dee do.
I’m going to work my 39 hours and leave. Oh, you need me to work more because every one of your part timers called out? Hahahahahahaha. Yeah right.
That is how a lot of DM's operate - just ask anyone in region 4. Lead by fear - scream at employees infront of others and the kicker - HR SUPPORTS it ALL.

Management by intimidation only works on those that allow themselves to be intimidated. I learned that lesson early in life and find humor in it when I see it attempted on me now. Management by facts seems to be an increasingly rare characteristic which I think is why so many companies are failing at leading their employees in the direction of their vision. That being said, I see little long term vision being displayed other than trying to maximize any and all metrics that appeal to the stockholders. To he-l with the customer and/or employee experience. If you look at our employee turnover rate, shear number of open positions and ever increasing frequency of customer complaints that should quickly prove the point that our CEO's podcast closing mission statement is nothing more than a hollow catch phrase. The mission statement should be "remember we are a publicly traded company".
Defend yourself by the Throat,
REMEMBER there not smart,
they just THINK THEY ARE.
