Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Another HR resignation

HR got another one. They are trying to convince her to stay and get a roll and promotion in PDC. This one was a favorite.

I know 3 more that are giving Chevron one last PDC. They are all being very telling to their PDRs as these are all quiet individuals that are extremely good. Wake up HR management....your best people are walking out the door while you keep the complainers.

@Aokh, we don't need any more complainers here since you started posting, we have enough, thanks!

I hate the fact the complainers are still there, instead of posting on layoff sites.

Just wait and see the PDC and where people got placed and who got promoted. I would venture a guess that it will be easy to figure out.

The big problem I see with HR is shallow diversity. HR seems to be sort of 75% female. For better and worse, females tends to be jealous, gossipy and holds a grudges. That is not a criticism, just a observation. However, this makes for some wild dynamics as drama ensues. How can we improve that situation?

If the information is accurate, its not trolling. Probably not a good idea to make yourself a target on an anonymous website that people at Chevron read.

Seems like HR trolls on here trying to bring down people so they can position themselves for a desirable job in the PDC.

Is is a requirement to make it through high school or at least have a GED to be hired on at CVX? It's not obvious from the content and grammar of these posts.

Someone is really not a JL fan. He is the worst but I can think of so many other 24-25 who are just as bad if not worse.

Thats not a troll. Its JL trying to defend himself. The problem for him is that every knows he is subpar.

@eefr, I work in HR and from the nature of your post, can confirm that you definitely DO NOT work in HR and are just posting another fake news, false information Troll post as an attempt to liven up the thread, nice try! Carry on....

Its not that people in HR are upset about not being promoted every 3 years, its about who is being promoted. We all work together and its sad when the lower performers move faster than the strongest ones. JL is not good. You cannot convince anyone that he is deserving of a 24 or even a new role. He is in the bottom 25% of HR professionals at Chevron. How he (and a few others) made it through transformation is proof that HR does not know how to evaluate their best workers/leaders. The business needs to step in and hire someone to evaluate the talent within Chevron. 26+ are failing at this basic HR skill set.

I am in HR and I can confirm that the posts are for the most part accurate, except for the occasional troll (looking at you, Yawn). Most of the resignations speculated about are legit CVX HR employees. I only still can confirm 8-9 leavers so far in 2021. This latest one, the one threatening to leave, is prob true but clearly hasn’t happened since no one knows details. I am sure after the PDC that we will see more exits as people are mad about where they landed (or didn’t land) and when they learn about the promotion outcomes.
Please no one say “it’s HR, who cares”. Like anyone cares about IT or HSE. All functions are equally as worthless and trivial so STFU and let the people vent.

The information that I received from an old friend in HR is exactly the opposite. She said that the information posted here is mostly false and is obviously created by trolls just looking to get a reaction and start an obviously reactionary thread based on pure falsehoods and conjecture.

Was just at Happy hour and bumped into a few HR folks and asked about this site. They pretty much confirmed that most of the information is spot on. A few trolls, but they are very unhappy and they feel that management does not care. All of them (3) were engaged with recruiters and biding their time for the appropriate offers.

This PMO HR guy is a certified HR LT favorite. So no surprise if he gets selected for prime roles now and in the future.

PMO HR guy is not white, he is Latino. Check your facts!

First off, that guy talks poorly about everyone. I mean everyone. He is just plainly not very good and him responding about himself on this site proves it (just FYI, we are all direct with people). How he got to a 24 is absolutely crazy and proof that being a white man in HR is the ticket to promotions. If HR management cared to look, they would find massive mistakes throughout his entire career. The best move he made was crying to RM 6 years ago after he made a mistake that cost Chevron millions.

@asia what is unfair is that there are plenty of capable people who get passed over time and again in favor of people like the PMO HR guy. Think about it. They selected him for the PMO role without even competing the job when I can think of lots of people who are just as if not more capable. The “dog piling” is less about him than it is about biased and short sighted leadership decisions.

Not sure why your dog piling PMO HR guy. He’s always been good to me. I’d work for him any day of the week. Other HR leaders, nah, but he’s one of the good ones that’ll shoot straight and work his tail off. I know opinions are obviously divided, but felt like this convo is a bit unfair.

Probably fake news. Word travels fast in HR and nobody can keep their mouth shut, especially the leaders. So we would have known by now if this is true.

Re the post about HR sponsor: What I remember most about working with her is that she doesn’t give a flip what the higher ups think. She truly cares about people and strives to ensure they are treated fairly and with compassion. Why she’s still here putting up with all this BS is beyond me.

Pro tip: If the position owner or PDR didn’t call you about a job before it was even posted, you can be assured that you won’t be getting that job. Facts.
