Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Why did you join?

Those who joined GE in the past several years, I have to ask you, why? Did you not do your due diligence? If you simply googled GE you would have known how bad this place is. I can't think of a single reason other than that you were desperate for a job then and there for whatever reason. Please, enlighten me.

If someone is straight out of college and has no job, I'd agree to taking a GE job. As the OP said, if you had no job and needed the check, then going to GE is fine. Moving to GE from an inferior job might work too. With that said, GE's best days are behind it, but if you don't have a better option in hand, it is okay to work there.

Rocking the GE boat for 'bout 20 years. Okay pay, stable company. That's all what left of it.

I came to GE thinking i could make nore than i did before with a pension and great healthcare. The union really f/-ked that up big time. I got laid off and called back a couple of time. Now fast forward to 2021 and its starting to look and sound like another cut is coming. This time i will not return but i doubt there will be a call back after this one. No work on the books and the CA agreement was the only thing that save jobs for a year. I bet it was in the back door deal no layoffs for a year. Ha ha resume is locked and loaded
