Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Why bother anymore

I stopped caring a few months ago. Now I’m just going through the motions for my shift each day. If I see a problem I just keep it to myself because 9 out of 10 times managers won’t do anything to fix it. The way I see it is if management doesn’t care enough why should I? None of them seem to take pride in our store so why should I?

I was there for 5 years and after returning from furlough that was my attitude. Managers all do their own thing “one belk” is every person for themselves apparently.

Same. I literally had 5 departments to myself yesterday. I can only do one thing at a time. People just have to wait. I do my part and go home. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Good advice. I was there 20 years and worried the whole time. Yes no one cares anymore. Its all about what you can produce. Life is so sweet without that burden in my life now

Always know that Belk does NOT CARE about you. Not even a little. You are just a number to them. thats all.

That's actually the best attitude to have. You are still doing your job but just putting yourself ahead of your work (and rightly so). Don't invest too much emotional and physical energy on the job or else you are going to be disappointed later. Make the time to get a hobby. You don't want to be on your deathbed and all you can think about is your job.
