Is AST the next BXB?
Quite the opposite, people are fleeing blue states in historic numbers, especially California due to the high cost of living and pi-s-poor managed states.
RTP is $$$ in 2021. Apple is building campus here. Those of us that bought homes when Cisco was still building out campus are very lucky. $278,000 home built in 1999 just sold for $635,000; 7 miles from Cisco campus. Davis Drive in RTP turning into San Jose's Tasman. Bad traffic, expensive homes, long commutes.
Cisco is making their biggest bets in India. Everything else is a holding action.
I thought I was safe in Texas but I see Cisco investing less and less here. OP might be right.
... RTP and remote , cheap locals are growing.
I got news for you, RTP is not cheap. It's not Bay area expensive, but it's not AR, LA, MI, MO, OK or TN cheap. People are having to live an hour's commute away in RTP to be able to afford homes, or be dual (high-tech) income families.
Csco is fleeing California, and high cost Democrat cities. RTP and remote , cheap locals are growing.
The opposite is happening, people are deserting Blue states and moving to Red/Purple ones. If you don’t believe me, look at the last census details.
Cisco is not quite sure what to do about this, they claim to be working on a policy. Most execs still want local employees; second best choice is within the time zone. So, they may tolerate movement to Cisco hubs in other states, but forget moving to Bozeman Montana.
Yes. Cuba Call Center planned for 2022.
The amount of completely unfounded rumours one can read here just blows my mind. What’s next? Cisco leaving states with NRA supporters? Cisco favouring states that make good cheesecake?
