I really liked the post where someone mentioned that the same problem with understaffing also happened in 2018. Yes, and only three years after that we are facing the same problem again. Is it possible that the company learned nothing from that earlier mistake? In general, why does SF fail to learn?

SF is a lost cause with idiocy at the helm. Just like DC. Leadership are sheep.
go on indeed or glassdoor. Read all of the 1 rating reviews from claim handlers. You can go back to 2015 and not tell the difference from a 2021 review.
They dont care. What employees have been asking for isnt a consideration. The only thing that matters is staying #1 by buying a non standard insurer, executive bonuses, and METRICS...of which only cost reduction and efficiency metrics matter, not silly employee satisfaction metrics.
They also need to be very careful in who they hire. They can’t hire near-do-wells with only “ I am breathing” on their resumes. Auto Complex Injury requires a high skill level. Staffing has become a chronic problem! Let’s not let this happen repeatedly or the end is near.
It’s because we keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result… every 3 years it gets really bad but nothing actually changes in the end. They just re-hire or transition people into new roles in the areas that needed the most help. After a little while, we are right back to where we started.
And all the time the company netted huge profits…..gained million of policies……and staffing has always been their problem…fact is…there is no dept within the farm that is staffed correctly…all because of a bean counter who doesnt have a clue….
They must do this on purpose every few years so that a certain percentage of employees leave or something. 2018 was he-l with the forced OT, no time off ever approved, expectations to do everything as fast as possible, and no acknowledgement that there were not enough people for the amount of work coming in. What we’re dealing with now is a lot like that was, but at least they aren’t forcing us to dedicate our entire existence to work this time with non-optional OT every week and they claim to be hiring, so they must have learned something. I just hope they are hiring for the right reasons and not just to kick the current employees to the curb.
Fire Proximity went through an employee purge in 2015 which left us grossly understaffed. Another one in 2018 with even greater understaffing. Now there’s talk for another round in 2021. Coincidence that this is happening every 3 years? Not in the least!
