Current employee - workers recently notified about their work-from-home status and what the future of work will look like. Is it just me or do any other employees have an impending sense of doom?…... A round of layoffs after anniversary? Anyone know anything?

No more government money to help them this year, so I would expect layoffs... their crack tech department will automate everything so small teams can handle everything with ease.

Take a chainsaw to Technology. Unbelievable salaries, you could chop $50mm out easily and see no difference in delivery or support. Right after Anniversary.
There will be a realignment as the work from home/office gets reexamined dept. by dept. That means some will be let go and others will be given new assignments (demotions). However this is nothing new it's just wrapped in different clothes in keeping with the times. A few more consolidations will happen and a greater work load will be done by fewer folks. Really not much to see here just a continuation of the policies of the last few years.
There is a 50-50 chance of layoffs may happen. You know the odds now.
