Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Last Week at Pepsi

Next week is our last week. Half the team got lateral moves, the other half left the company. Is life better after Pepsi?

The job market is red hot right now. I have never seen the pay this high (outside of Pepsi of course). DON'T forgo the whole severance package for a measly 5-7% pepsi move. Two of my co-workers took the bait and got lateral moves with no raise. 100% blessing in disguise.

Recently let go. Got a new job (no promotion) in two months with a 25% pay increase. Benefits are slightly better.

It is a great job market right now if you have the skills/training/experience (older employees).

I also got lay off and I consciously took the entire severance package (bonus and the 22 weeks of pay for my tenure) . I needed rest. After I rested for 2 months, I signed up with a temp agency and got the experience I needed. I re-applied at Pepsi after a year. Got hired. Went from a 3 to a 6 . I would have never made this far if I stayed in my old position.

Sorry to hear, but probably a blessing. Did they give you notice? If so, how much? Did they give severance? I think my dept is next.
