Are there employees who feel their jobs at Baker are currently safe? Everybody I know is stressing over possible cuts all the time, which makes me wonder if there are any lucky ones who have no reason to worry about possible layoffs. And if so, why are you sure your position is safe?

I was told by a security manager named Courtney that we need to apply for other jobs.
I don’t think it’s the same guy.
His nicknames were probably stubby, shorty, stories, powder, etc
Has a nasally voice that gives women nausea.
Use to work for BKR back in the day. Partying for the fourth and I just met the biggest one upper, full of himself, knows it all in the history of being alive.
Dude was telling his GE power life story and how he drove NASCARS on a test track with no restrictor plate. And now he's running Baker Hughes from his 12 monitor home office. BKR is doomed if 1% of what came out of his mouth is true.
Ugh!
I’d go quite happily, had enough of the back stabbing, it’s depressing walking into the building, management completely out for themselves now, been with baker’s for 28+ years, never in all that time have I seen it so bad,
Is emmott road locate in Houston tx plant gonna shut down
Given the 30% turnover I have witnessed in my tenure. The odds someone lasts 10 yrs is 2.82%.
If you feel comfortable with that, your delusional or have big cajones. Europe based workers have got a different story to tell, almost all are still there that I started with except the ones who retired.
No one is safe. Have a backup plan. Keep looking outside.
In Germany we are safe until 31.03.2022. At least no layoffs to this point.
But what will happen after!?
No one is safe. Today you are safe, doesn't means you’re safe tomorrow.
This is one way of looking at it. Another is - is the company safe holding onto me? Dog eat dog remember we can all play that game.
Either you’re bringing value or you’re not. That’s the real justification for your job.
Doing your job isn’t enough. Are you a net cost to them? Do you feel you’re compensated very well for what you’re doing. If you feel like you’re in the wrong role, you will feel uncomfortable and anxious.
Depends on your boss too. Do you feel empowered to do your job right?
Older population: your screwed unless you’re bringing a lot of value - a net profit after considering your salary, cost of your benefits, etc. unfortunately it’s the same everywhere you go.
If you’re in support, you’re screwed if you intimidate managers
