Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

What happen?

Why does it seem more and more that PepsiCo is trying to cut its way to being profitable? The only way they seem to be improving the company's numbers these days is through layoffs and other reductions in costs. What happened to actually finding long-term solutions to issues, innovating, doing anything BUT resorting to a quick fix through cuts?

They are already obscenely profitable. Look at 2020 earnings. During the most potent global health crisis in a century which shut down much of the worlds economy - this bloated whale of a company profited billions. Despite that - they could only find it in their “benevolent” hearts to cough up a stingy 1% raise for most employees. Anyone who can get out of this horrid organization should do so soon. For those who can’t now - hopefully you’ll be able to soon.
