In the last 48 hours, maintenance team has taken down 2 large GlobalFoundries signs and logos on the outside of Fab8, including the large one on the side of the door. Now the logos on each and every conference room and sign are all coming down.... Big countdown clock on the internal website for July 19th, a big reveal...
Have we been sold? Or just rebranding ahead of IPO announcement?

When they raised the new starting pay to $17.50, I got bumped up to there because I wasn't making that much, and then for my 10+ years of being there, I got a 39 cent raise. So effectively I am making 39 cents more than someone who just got hired. 39 cents. For 10+ years of service. AND, they counted the bump up to the new starting pay AS A PART OF MY RAISE. Also, since my "raise" was so big, I am not eligible for the July 2021 Merit Raise.
GF is also outsourcing people globally to save money while wasting millions on this rebranding cr-p. Lay off people critical to Fab operations, but waste money on a new name/logo? The folks who are being outsourced are probably better off somewhere else.
I hope they come up with a better name than they did when they promoted that stupid marketing catchphrase they had for a while...

Rumor is GF will soon be a division of Intel Foundry Services. And Intel will formally break apart their design team from their foundry team. GF only recently pumping their IPO valuation publicly to drive up the acquisition price from Intel.
and how much is this going to cost again??? the rebranding ??.. whats the new name going to be ?? imagine all the work that is going to involve in updating all ur business material , business cards , etc ...
remember from Microsoft -> Going to Google .. and now moving back to Microsoft ... how much did we actually save $$ ...
how much time and effort are ppl going to spend again resetting all the shared drives / forms / procedures .. when we all moved to Google.. and now we have to relearn Sharept , Teams ..
