I heard that one back in the early 2000s: "oh you work for Cisco? What's it like shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic?". Most if not all things in IT follow a circular pattern. What's hot today (public cloud) might just be old fashioned tomorrow. The walls of the Museum of Obsolete IT feature many remarkable examples of what was once promising "next-gen" tech.
