Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

How is their effectiveness of leading others measured?

I apologize that this question doesn't have much to do with layoffs, but I'm interested in how store managers were evaluated at BBBY? I understand that their ability to complete business goals is crucial, however, what if some SM manages a team that is significantly worse and full of slackers than someone who manages much better employees? Anyway, I don't think that evaluation is good, considering that obviously the worst job in our store is done by SM, and he is still there.

Wondering if , since store managers are the only store level salaried employees, there’s widespread issues with these employees not working the hours they are scheduled to work?

It's all relative to their or-l prowess.

The SM is measured by the results of the store. Whether the6 motivate and inspire their team to provide results, or they are micro managers. With BBBs promote from within, most the SMs were good workers but not the best with leadership or people skills. And some got lazy and weren’t great workers anymore. Plus the DMs had favorites and it was more about who you knew, not what you did.
