I have been here for several years, I have worked in other companies as well. I'm used to working under pressure and I've never had a problem working hard. It was only here that I recently experienced a total burnout. I'm sure I will overcome that somehow, but I wonder if others, especially lately, are going through burnout phases due to the overall situation and working conditions here?

Its funny customers are paying for a service that is just a change in the name and a bunch of empty promises. Some of them are just realizing it lol
I am sorry you are going through this. No one should go through burnout and I know from experience how mentally and physically draining it can be. I have also been shocked to hear similar stories from several others at Citrix, including people I would have never expected. Trust me you are not alone.
Take it one day at a time and utilize the benefits you work so hard to earn. Have you looked in to going out on medical leave?
Management giving growth to only those li--ing their a--. Head down, no-nonsense engineers are no longer valued. Its a total joke.
Citrix is a joke. Burnout was a thing at Citrix before Covid. I am so thankful I no longer work there. So many other companies treat their employees so much better! Citrix is laying off and didn’t have a bo-m during Covid. Run! It is a sinking ship!
Go-d—- f——-management f—— it all up. Management is the most incompetent bag of fools I’ve ever seen. Nobody cares about the work, they are just punching the time clock to make the paycheck.
True but for me I guess burnout is not caused due to work quantity but rather quality and culture. In no particular order the reasons are -
- silly vision (ironically named Workspace),
- d-mb process (disguised as SAFe),
- pathetic management
- somewhat boring tech
These all combined have ki---d my motivation, interest and ingenuity, slowly but steadily. And it’s a drag now to even do 8 hours of meaningful work.
I think work quality and work culture matters more for burnouts, than work quantity.
I'm in a Similar position. Completely burnt out. My colleagues are the same. I know its felt across each geo too so it's not isolated. Management know people are overloaded. But i don't hear any news about new staff positions. Even if they decided tomorrow to advertise roles. It would be months before we would see any benefit due to training required. I would be surprised if nobody my dept leaves. I'm not sure what expect to happen.
