Delivery Has Turned into a Joke

Third party delivered my friend a side by side refrigerator this past weekend. A total nightmare. She said two guys came to her door and the way they acted was like ‘d-mb and d-mber’. One was a painter that was just trying to pick up some extra money and said he didn’t even have experience with appliances. They proceeded to take the frig doors off all the while one of them constantly kept saying he didn’t’ have a clue what he was doing. They get it in the house and then can’t get the doors to reinstall correctly. They determine that they need a tool that they don’t have on their truck, so they tell my friend they are going to ride down to walmart, buy the tool, and return to finish the delivery and set-up. Two hours later they come back and still cant get the refrigerator to go back together. Disgusted by this time, my friend tells them to take the refrigerator back to the store for a refund. They then proceed to dolly the frig and just let it roll down her steps into her garage where they leave it. And all this time they left it on the plastic slats. She told me that she will never buy anything again from Lowes that has to be delivered.

I hope this company understands the consequences of getting rid of all of their experienced delivery drivers and delivery dept managers all to save a few bucks on overtime. I assure you that what this company is saving it is more than losing in future sales because customers on big ticket items because they are not satisfied with the quality of service that third party is providing. It is a complete joke and people see it.

I had one customer tell me the delivery driver used their toilet and stunk the whole house up. All those beans and jalapeños.

Let’s face it. Most of them should be serving chips and queso dip at el Chico’s, not delivering $3000 refrigerators. Who wants to see Tatoo wheeling a 400 pound refrigerator down their driveway?

That's practically an everyday occurance in my area. I have even had customer's report that some of the 3rd party crews have asked to borrow tools from them in order to complete the setup. The 3rd party in my area (FL) is also supposed to be qualified to do gas appliance hook up yet we just got another complaint about a potentially lethal gas leak at a customer's home due to their incompetence. One of the customers has a claim against Lowe's and all swear that they will NEVER shop at Lowe's again. Lost count of how many appliances we have had to swap out due to them screwing up the delivery/setup process. Need a door swing reversed (top mount, bottom mount or dryer) or an ice maker installed and there is about a 50% chance there will be either a retrip to finish the job or an AR263 account to swap the entire appliance. Corporate does absolutely NOTHING to hold the 3rd party company accountable and we definitely are losing both customers and $$$ due to their incompetence. Only wish I had Marvins phone number to hand out to customers so they could express their delivery complaints directly to him. Perhaps then corporate would grow a set and do something about the situation THEY created.
