I can’t possibly agree with some people here who claim that Belk still has some potential. Don't get me wrong, I would love that to be true, however my question is, what is that potential? How come I don't notice it? A company that does not know how to value its employees, which is the most basic thing, has no potential. If it has it, it will never be used, precisely because it does not know how to value hard working people.

I just don’t think there are any good store managers anymore. They are in charge of a sinking ship and it shows. Our store manager
makes an appearance in the morning meeting and then vaporizes til 4:00pm when she usually leaves. The morale is so bad at my store employees are leaving for other jobs or just going.
Not knowing the value of the employee or understanding their customer has only one outcome.
