Claims Supervisor position to be eliminated

Was reading up on a FB group for Claims Associates/Supervisors...an associate was told today by store leadership that the Claims Supervisor position was going to be eliminated and that they offered this person a new AP Lead position that is opening within the next few weeks. Not sure if this is a test store thing or rolling out nationwide. Looks like Claims Supervisors are the next to go if this is true.

Ok people! Enough! Cause here at Walmart we are a team, and we value you as family! “Bull Cr-p”!!! After 29 years I can say for sure that is not true! I’m soon not to be claims supervisor anymore. Every job has its flaws but almost every role at Walmart has pit falls. There is no longer SUPPORT from management. This is from every role rather a cart pusher in the heat, front end - sales floor with rude nasty customers, unloaders with trucks packed so badly that merchandise is crushed, leaking and totally destroyed. Many are overwhelmed, under trained, overworked, and underpaid! But yet we still do it day after day because we have family’s at home that need us too. Change is hard, we not on same page, much less with the same book. “Sam” I’m truly sorry for the way they have twisted your vision for people and associates to being only about $$$$$$.

Sounds like Bob needs a dose of DSD and claims reality. Those are two of the hardest jobs in the store. Responsible for hazmat, compliance, and shipping products out of the store correctly and not shrink out. DSD has to deal with jerk vendors, jerk drivers and not flood the back room with the freight and keep vendors under control. No.. there are no weekends off, I work one day a weekend, and yes work a home business on top of that, so I am never off. I have worked my tail off in every job in the store for 20 Plus years and can run circles around most these newbies who are lazy. There are very few who could uphold our schedule and expectations.. so yes we earn the staying off the sales floor in our own time.

This was posted over 8 months ago and still has not happened in any of the stores around me so I guess this was just a rumor.

Hey bob, you are obviously jealous and bitter that you have to stay on the floor. Or maybe you were denied a claims position? It’s not easy or a cushy job. It’s obvious you have no idea what it’s like to actually work in claims. I bet everyone around you loves working with your miserable and jealous attitude.

my husband has been claims supervisor for 28 yrs.. not and easy job. The manager relies on him for everything in the store, and when invoicing was eliminated, he got that as well.. also clearance aisle and tons of store peperwork. He is on the salesfloor like the rest of us.

Anyone who thinks claims is a cushy job is unaware of everything the claims associate does.
We come in every morning to a sh-t show because people are too lazy to process things their selves. There's broken glass and leaking shampoo everywhere.
Yes, the schedule is one of the best ones at Walmart. But we're still expected to be your mothers and maids.
We could oh easily be put out of the job if the team leads and sales floor associates did what they're actually supposed to regarding defective merchandise.
So, most stores only have themselves to blame for the cranky claim supervisor and associate.

Good riddance. Time to work on the sales floor like the rest of us. Claims and dsd are two of the easiest positions in the store. Stay in the back room and not have to deal with customers all day.

Severance pay lol. What is it beneath you to work on the floor? Probably have weekends off and sit in your touché all day like the claims associates at my store.

For myself, I hope they eliminate it. I want to take the severance and get out. I know it would negatively affect a lot of people. I am very lucky to be in a position to leave and will be ok. My thoughts are with those that will have to stay and continue to be worked beyond the realistic expectations this company has adopted. Good luck to us all!

Pretty sure it is coming. But don't assume every claims supervisor will be offered ap team lead. Not that every claims supervisor would even want it. Sounds like they will roll out a whole new apa, dsd, claims, customer host team with new role titles to go with the ap team lead. Best of luck to those who will be effected.
