Can anyone explain to me how it is possible to get a promotion here because hard work and engagement is certainly not the way to do it? It made me sick when I heard of some people who have received promotion. I’m no longer even sure if it’s worth trying to get a promotion here at all. Maybe it's better to think about going to another company?

Color and gender are a major consideration in the promotions we are seeing. Visible minorities are clearly discriminated against. Experience, loyalty, qualifications and competency are not a factor. Imperial is a high cost BSC and management xannot even sneeze without first obtaining permission from Exxon. In pats on development assignment keep an eye on local employees to ensure they follow instructions. You don't learn any new skills, except engineers becoming quasi accountants with their stints in BAR. Leave while you can. I did too and am much happier with my life.
