Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Top talent “narrative” and IT

IT and software engineering errs are. Joke. Plug and play cr-p systems all with platforms that integrate. Big deal. Paid way more than they should and does not take a rocket scientist to learn new methods of code. It’s a farce. They just want you ton do their shady systems work fast.

It’s a show

@4hxb+1 "SF is the IT Amish of the insurance industry." So true! They're still using Necho from the 1980's.

SF is the IT Amish of the insurance industry. ABS crashes every other day. ECS took a decade to build cost several billion and is a cluster for claims people and zero value for customers. Underwriting is using antiquated systems from the 1980’s. Digital is a mishmash of craziness that no one wants to use or like.Agnets, claims and underwriting have never figured out much IT/ET/systems has made their jobs miserable.

Yeah I have way too much exp with Java script, and python.

I really wanted to apply to the dev team until I heard of all the tech debt that lingers here. I’ll stick to freelancing.
