Law Department Employees

The Answer is a UNION! Watch for private information on social media! We can have control of where we work, how we are treated AND assignments.

oh please the only union talk ever at this company has been on this board only. believe me if anyone got a real union vote going i guarantee all the claim handlers would vote for it, simply to gain some level of control over your job. He-l i havent had a say in what i do with this company in years, i didnt get a say where i lived either, granted i was down to move. I just feel like the claim handlers have not a single person looking out for them in reality, though lots of lofty talk and articles saying otherwise, actions do not come close to the words written.

So I get it. The Law Department is requiring more "bu-t in chair" time than any other department and there appear to be a ton of other "control" issues going on. Understand that bad managers lead to this kind of activity. But think carefully about it. Many pros and cons with organizing. I hope it is not really that bad. Like others I have seen the bad and good with a union. The current administration certainly believes that unions are the way to go and State Farm really seems to support the current administration. Maybe it would give you more control of your work day and environment but wonder at what cost?

I am doing my best to manage laughing. If there was one department in the entire organization least likely to push labor unions it would be Corp Law. Their turnover rate is literally near zero, only reason it is not is normal retirements. If they get too much work they just turn additional work down unless it is somehow massively critical to SF. This is a troll that just wants to get posts-which I guess I am contributing to the problem.

If the answer is a Union, we don’t even want to know what the question was.

As a teamster during my college years, you really don't want to go union. Unions are just like any other bureaucracy. They only have their interest and not yours. Simply put, they go into your bosses office and cut a deal where they both get their pockets lined and not yours. Just like attorneys do. Know what tank to swim in if you are a little fish.

My wife was SEIU. You really don't want to go that route. The Unions get paid off by you and management. Believe me!
