Retired red badge here. I worked 50 hours plus a week for YEARS. Salaried....which meant there was no limit to the hours that we could be asked to work. Yes, some only worked 40 hours which meant others had to work waaaay more. I once had an HR manager text me at 11:15 pm.....another time my boss called me at 5:55am, wanting to know why I wasn't there yet.....some of us could write quite the memoir......

Many of these postings are requisitions to move current captains to. Ones with the correct job coding or area moves. This new system automatically posts them and now we have to submit askhr, who is also understaffed, to make the transfers. Which takes at least a week if you are lucky. Before, AST could do the simple move in 5 minutes before the job had a chance to post. But nooooo, this system is soooo much more efficient! (Eye roll so hard, my eyes hurt). This is why so many are out there.

Some new sales managers are being trained on how to do their jobs by experienced sales associates because other managers can’t help when they are too busy in their own areas being sales associates. It’s all backwards.

I'll tell you...we have managers working 50 a week, easy. In on days off, trying to get done the job of what used to be two people. I see despair in the faces of so many people.

Tell me what manager works 50 hours or more. Maybe you meant to say that a store can't run with managers leaving early when the boss is not around which is a lot. Managers don't need to clock in or out. We have managers to provide for change and ask for credit, anyone can do that .

And NO they aren't replacing managers with captains. You can't run a building on a bunch of hourly associates. Managers working 50+ hour a week no OT, they can't do that to hourlies.

Not why the jobs are out there. With the new system, if you want to convert an existing associate to captain, they have to apply to the job. Stores then have to get the jobs taken down where the general public can see the posting.
