Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Claims and ?

Is it just claims and underwriting with so many issues with metrics and micromanaging and workloads and roles and dissatisfaction?

Long overdue TMs get dumped on. They've had it too easy too long for they're pay grade.

The answer is to hire more employees to do the job. A million new policies is nice but not having adequate staffing is pitiful and what the problem is….the farms net income went up over 2 billion fron 2019 to 2020 and they dont reinvest in employees….training. (Which is pitiful)…….

Claims and underwriting are the production centers-like it or don’t it is the nature of the beast.

Agent and former claim rep here. Used phone (40 minute hold) chat 20 minutes to respond) and Email claims to get customers car towed to shop. This was four days ago. Car is not there. Another two hours trying to follow up with claims today. The answer….we assigned it to Agero 4 days ago but they haven’t towed it yet. Not the Claim Rep’s fault that we turned everything over to incompetent vendors. But I can’t waste hours of my time on this. And I can’t believe this cr-p is the product I’m selling.

I can share management is doing nothing but piling on work to TMs and it’s exhausting them. It’s all over most sections in claims and it will get worse. I don’t know any insurance company that isn’t in the same situation, especially claims. In fairness, most insurance companies are downsizing too. I have friends in the automotive industry and agriculture area who want to just pull their hair out daily.

Seems to be, but I can only comment on the claims portion. That has become a joke. Unfortunately, it's a very bad joke and nobody is laughing. Metrics have taken the place of quality leadership, management and the trust of the employee.

I wonder, if there was a poll, how many TM's & SM's think that our current system of metrics is a good idea or even a functional idea?
